The young girl walked around the school grounds, not really paying attention where she was going. She was too deep into her thoughts; she was thinking about the phone called she had this morning. She had called her parents to talk…and convince to let her come home. She even tried to convince them she wouldn’t try to harm herself again. But they hadn’t believed her, begging didn’t help either. Jade sighed softly, tucking her hair behind her ear. She pushed past someone in front of her, not looking up to see who it was. “And how do we know you’re not just lying again jade? No…you have to stay there and get help…it’s for your own good sweetie” She sighed remember her mothers words, nothing she said or did would make them change their minds. She was stuck in this hell whole, she wondered what her parents would do if she ran away from here…and just came home on her own?

Jade groaned softly “Keep dreaming Jade” She said softly to herself, she looked up finally to see where she was and stopped right in her tracks. Just ahead was the barn. The last place in this hell whole she wanted to be, why did she walk this way….well it wasn’t her fault…she really wasn’t watching where she was going. Jade sighed and was about to turn away when one of the teachers called her name. "Jade, you change your mind about riding?” Great now what was she going to do? Jade took a deep breath and turned around, talking politely. “Um…well no I was just walking around…” She looked down at her feet mentally kicking herself. “I should get going anyway….I’m supposed to have a therapy session”

She turned again when he stopped her. “Well…I’m really sure your therapist won’t mind you being late…you don’t have to ride just come see legacy. She doesn’t get much attention anymore.” He said. She bit down on her lower lip, her heart beating faster. “Um….sure.” She slowly followed the teacher into the barn and towards legacy’s stall. Her heart started to beat faster, she groaned inwardly and her breathing became even harsher, as her lips trembled…no all of her trembled. She didn’t want to go closer but he’d make her anyway…they always did. She took a deep breath and stepped to the door, aware of the teacher beside her.

Legacy shook her head and snorted…her way of greeting Jade. She moved over to the door and stuck her head over it. Jade took a step back, feeling a bit light headed. “Hi…hi girl…” She said softly watching the horse, someone shouted behind her but she didn’t look, her eyes were stuck to the horses. She wasn’t sure when the teacher walked away but when she turned to ask if she could leave he was gone. “Great just leave me here with the dumb horse.”

Kriss was in Penguins stall not on his own accord mind. After the ride he had figured he owned the horse atleast a brush. Yet the idea sounded less appealing now that he was actually standing in the stable brush poised delicately in one hand as he eyes his horse off cautiously. The chestnut warmblood however was calmly eating ignorant to the shaking boy beside him. Kriss wasn't ignorant to horses even being forced to teach beginner riders at the yearly camp his parents took great pride in offering the public at there barn. Yet that had been a long time ago and he had never felt comfortable around these creatures. It was one thing to understand how something was done and a complete other to actually be expected to do it yourself. Besides the passion of horses had stopped at his parents.

With a deep breath Kriss leaned forward and placed the brush on the horses skin starting near his shoulder applying as little pressure as he could, his other hand steadying himself against the horses wither. An uprupt voice sounded from somewhere down the isle and Penguin lifted up his head from his feed to look out over his stall door. Kriss leaped back quickly once again eyeing the horse with a cautious eye. " Shit Kriss grow up " he muttered softly to himself knowing full well that his pep talk wouldn't have the desired effect and it would take alot more than words to give him back the tinniest of confidence. He was slightly better in the saddle but even then. . . With a slight shake of his head Kriss ran two hands down the horses body only slightly hesitating this time. His fingers trailing along the geldings smooth coat and stopped up the top his neck and under his ears. It was enough contact for today, or thats how Kriss was able to justify not completely brushing out his horse this afternoon. He knew the second he left the stable he would feel better and less queasy yet he would also feel instantly guilty. The same voice as before sounded again and this time Penguin didn't even flinch up from his food. Kriss however was curious, it was a girls voice and it sounded angry. Leaving the stall was easy compared to the last 15minutes spent in the stall and any guilt he may have felt was over shadowed by the curiosity of meeting someone new. On one hand meetings were always awkward especially for one as shy as Kriss. So who was he fooling? There would be no introduction, but a small peek couldn't hurt could it?

He shut the stall door with a much louder bang than he had intended, the sound didn't seem to bother the horse, Kriss however squealed and dropped the brush, it was fairly safe to say he was beyond anxious and tense today, spending this time around this many new people and horses hadn't helped it one bit. Yet Kriss didn't take comfort in that fact, turning down the isle he caught sight of the girl he had heard talking before. Just as he had guessed she looked angry or frustrated even. Yet since all ideas of gently sneaking past for a discreet look was out of the picture, Kriss wasn't sure what to do. Biting his bottom lip, a habit born out of nerves he bent down to pick up the fallen brush. He was going to have to walk past her now, probably even say hello or have a conversation and acknowledge her! With a deep breath he straightened up and walked forward.

Jade sighed looking around for the teacher, now what was she supposed to do? She could just leave; it wasn’t like anyone was here to stop her. Jade looked back at Legacy, she was eating from her feed not even paying attention to her anymore. Jade felt kind of bad no one would ride her; she was really a beautiful horse. And she bet she could run fast too, but Jade would never try it. Jade was ho totally terrified of these creatures, they were way to big, they ran to fast and if they stepped on you even by accident they could brake your arm.

She shuddered a little just at the thought, that had almost happened to her. When she was four her grandmother took her out for her birthday. They went to this dude ranch to let Jade ride a pony…well they put her on a big horse instead and the stupid teacher had let her fall from the horse. Jade sighed softly then jumped at slightly at a door being slammed or banged shut. Legacy looked up from her feed ears against her head but then went back to her food ignoring Jade again. “See you don’t need me, your doing just fine on your own.” She said softly, a little smile tugging at her lips. With a shaking hand she reached up and touched the horse’s neck, running her hand along it to her back.

She had no problem touching the horse it was just the riding her that she hated. Somewhere down the line of stalls someone squealed and dropped something. Jade pulled her hand away and stuck it in her jeans pocket. “Well I’ll see you later….maybe” She turned to leave when she noticed someone standing there watching her, she could feel the heat rush into her cheeks. It was a boy…very cute boy, he bent down to pick up what looked like a brush then started walking her way. Wonderful….just what I need. Jade quickly turned and walked out the door and into the nice sunny day. She leaned against the side of the barn taking deep breaths her eyes closed. She felt kind of lightheaded but she was used to those now. Nothing she couldn’t handle with some aspirin later.

He caught her eye as she turned to look at him, he couldn't be sure but she almost looked embarrassed when she spotted him. It wasn't the usual response he got from anyone let alone a girl. He looked away quickly as she turned on her heels and seem to storm off. Now that response he was more used to. He always found it to be just as rude however. Sure he wasn't the best boy out, fuck he wasn't even a bloke to begin with yet that was beyond the point. People needed to learn to look beyond first glances before storming away. So Kriss has dealt with more than his fair share of rudeness and bullying in his life time, and he was prone to get a bit emotional over it from time to time. His only problem however was the he is far to trusting and would most likely bow down to anyone if they offered him the slightest bit of affection and or friendship. This was proving true now as he turned around to watch him horse, his fear evaporating slightly now that a thick bit of wood was between horse and human, and he felt guilty for getting grumpy at the girl. There were some people who just didn't like that useless bit of chit chat, or maybe she was just as shy as he. It was unlikely but it made him feel better about it regardless.

He could hear the splintering of wood and a low rumble of curse words strung out. He recognized the accent straight away and knew it could only belong to a boy named Tim. Kriss hadn't met the boy, yet what he had heard of him was enough to assure him they wouldn't get along. Yet so far he was proving to be fairly human, unlike what everyone else had been saying about him, those curse words seem to prove it. Chuckling to himself Kriss left the brush at his horses door, he would come back and finish the job later . . . always a top procrastinator. Realizing he was going to have to walk through the barn and possibly pass the girl he had briefly seen before Kriss sighed. His blue eyes searching ahead of him curiously as he walked. He tried not to jump and squeak again as he saw the same girl as before leaning up against the barns frame. She was pretty, yet at the moment he wasn't focused on her looks. His mind was working over time. He could turn around and stomp in the other direction as she had done. Or he could do the thing he deemed as polite and friendly and atleast say hi or introduce himself. He hadn't seen her around or atleast heard any rumors about her. So he figured she must be new. Even the quiet ones had some talk going around about them. Considering kriss doesn't have a mean bone in his body he would most likely cave in and say hello, even though he desperately wished to just walk away and hide. Instead he slowed his steps so that he had time to thing before he reached her. What to do, what to do.

Jade stood there breathing slowely, she was glad the teacher didn't make her ride the damn horse. she might have passed out, which wouldn't have been good. Jade opened her eyes slowely and saw that boy again, he was looking at her as if trying to determin something.

"Great...." Jade sighed as he started walking her way slowely, she didn't want to be rude it's just she was kind of having a bad day. She delbertly hadn't hung around anyone in this hell hole one, because she was too shy, two she liked being by herself and three people uselly were rude.

The boy walked over and stood there starring at her, not saying anything. He looked kind of shy which made Jade smile. She'd never met shy boy before, it was kind of cute. She sighed knowing she'd have to be the first one to say something.

"Hello...my names Jade." She said quietly and yes shyly. She felt kind of bad for storming away with out sayin anythin last time, but she needed air or she would have passed out right there on the floor, in front of this boy. Which would have been way emmbarrising.

The way the other girl was leaning against the barn, her chest being pushed out as she took shallow quick breaths made Skie wonder what was wrong with her. It was only as she opened her eyes did Kriss remember that he was staring and lower his gaze. Taking a small step forward then as he started the deliberating process. Should he say hello? Or shouldn't he? Pale eyes flickered back up towards the girls frame quickly before he lowered them again becoming all to aware of the shortening space between the two people. Coming up short he stopped and looked down at his shoes. There was a beetle crawling in the sand inbetween his two feet and as strange a moment as it may be Kriss found himself lost in thought as he watched the beetle try and find a way around his shoes.

With a start he looked up again panic flooding in his eyes briefly as he caught the girls eyes. Yet he saw her smile gently and he returned a smile of his own. His eyes dancing and open as he searched her face for any kind of resentment. He wasn't really surprised when she spoke. If he had thought about it, one of them would eventually had to have said something considering he was simply standing there staring at her quietly, was probably a lucky thing she hadn't yelled at him or told him off. Yet she simply did what Kriss was considering doing all along. Introduce herself. So the name was jade. He would try and remember that, it wasn't as if he had met lots of people that he was having trouble remembering them all. No he simply had a bad memory when it came to things like names. Her voice was soft and sweet. The look in her eyes almost made her come across as shy, yet he couldn't be sure and didn't feel like over analyzing things as he usually did.

" Hey " taking one hand out of his pocket he lifted it up in a small wave like gesture. His voice was husky and slightly feminine, yet still confusing for those who have never met him. "It's nice to meet you, Im Kriss" he looked away as he spoke, not wanting to catch her gaze again finding it to personal and intimidating. So instead he scanned the ranges behind her, his gaze however remaining gentle and shy.

Jade smiled softly as he said hello and spoke, he has a husky voice. She liked it right away, and he was defiantly shy. Jade laughed softly to herself. Watching him, he wasn't lookin at her but past her.

"How are you today Kriss?" She asked softly brushing her hair back, Kriss was one of the few people she met in this hell whole. He seemed really nice...shy but nice. "Oh..sorry about storming away before...I just needed some air." Jade smiled sotly. "I...don't like horses"

She found it emmbarising to tell people she was afraid of horses but she didn't want Kriss to think she was a rude person. Though she never really cared about what people said....but she did care what Kriss thought of her. Which was stupid right?

It was a good thing he had avoided her gaze, for unknown to him she chuckled softly something that was done out of kindness surely, yet Kriss wouldn't have taken kindly to it. Not that he would have shown his displeasure at it, it just wasn't something his self confidence or lack there of could take. Yet when he lowered his eyes once again he was met with a warm and open gaze, one that made him smile gently. He liked her and instantly got a feel that he could trust her, not that it was unusual for Kriss to trust someone right away. Nor was it strange for him to trust the same person over and over again regardless of how much they did to damage his trust in the first place. It wasn't his biggest flaw, but it was up there, thats for sure.

She spoke just as gently as he had, as if she to was shy. Kriss doubted that, the people here seemed to be beyond out going and he had envied all there confidence. Why should she be any different. The way she brushed her hair away brought a slight blush to his face and he ducked his head to the side before answering. " Not so bad i guess, how about you?" Of course he was having a shitty lonely scary day, pretty much like all the other days here. He wouldn't tell that to her of course. Not yet anyways. He smiled and brushed aside her apologies, knowing all to well exactly how she felt. Having run out on several occasions for a similar reason. " I understand your fear " he said with a lopsided smile looking wearily back into the barn.

Jade smiled again. "Um...not so good actully...very bad day." She licked her bottom lip, "Oh..your scared of horses to huh?" Jade looked up into his eyes as she spoke..he had pretty eyes. Kind of...grayish..or they looked that way.

"Your eyes are very pretty" She said before she relized what she was going to say until it was out. Jade blushed deep red and lowered her eyes, wow stupid Jade. Who went around telling cute guys that their eyes were pretty? She sounded stupid. Jade started to play with the locket around her neck, running her hand over the design gently. She did this when she was nervous or embbarissed...which she was. She should just leave....she had a therpsi appointment...but she really didn't want to go to it...
