"Still so young, desperate for attention."

'Brianna. All I'm asking you to do is apologize.' Brianna shook her head. No way was she apologizing for her action. She just hit the kid! And I know you are probably thinking about how horrible she is, but there was a reason. The dude started mouthing off to Brianna, who was not in a good mood prior to this event. And that led to some shoving and trash talking, and the guy pushed Brianna to far.... So she did the only logical thing and punched him. Now she was sitting in the principal's office with the Principal, himself and the boy. "No." Was what Brianna said before turning around. 'Miss Hart.' She was called by a deeper voice. "What?" She growled. 'You're not free to go. ' Brianna sighed and listened to her sentence. 'Well, then, I have no choice. Detention. every day, but the next week. And don't even think about skipping or getting here late!' Brianna rolled her eyes. "What would make you think I would try to skip? I wouldn't want to miss a minute of being detained." She turned on her heels and then walked out. She hated being in trouble, unless it was for doing something fun... Like tagging school signs with Benjy. Spencer was not really want to want to get in trouble with the pair, so it was normally just Brianna and Benjy.

She walked out of the office and into her dorm room, figuring that she was going to go skateboard in the parking lot. That was always fun, right? Well, to Brianna and Benjy, it. It was another thing just her and Benjy did. Her and Spencer were the ones who shared the love of music, and that's normally what they did together. Played guitar, Listen to music, and making fun of sucky music. That was always a whole heap of fun. Brianna smiled at the thought. She needed to change out of the skirt she was wearing if she was going to skateboard. She slipped her skirt off and then pulled on a pair of pink, white and gray pants of some sort. They were really cute and pretty much Brianna's style. She pulled a pink tank top on. The ran a studded belt through the loops of her pants and then buckled it. She changed her shoes to a pair of black and white vans and then tied them up. After she took her hair down from the pony tail in was in and brushed it out, she put her jewelry on and then a few wristbands.

She grabbed her skateboard and was ready to get out of this stupid building. She hated this school so much. And every chance she got, she tried to get out of it. And skateboarding was a good way of doing that. She held the skateboard under her arm and ran down the steps as fast as she could, trying not to fall. That would hurt, like bad. She looked in her pocket to see if she had any cigarettes left, but no, she didn't. Yes, the blonde was a nicotine whore. She finally made it outside and began to venture towards the parking lot.

She set her board down and then sat on it for a second, Not really sure what to do. She finally stood up and placed one foot of the board and pushed off with the other. She found the stair rail and ollied on to it, pretty sure that she could make it while not paying complete attention. She got about half way down when she lost her balance and fell on the hard concrete below. "Ow! fuck! Damn it!" She yelled. Examining her forearm that was bleeding pretty bad. Brianna was used to pain, but it was stinging like a mofo. There was really no use to stopping the bleeding. It it was going to kill her, then oh well.

Skyler hated to be the new kid in school. Everyone stared, people gawked, others, the braver ones, even dared to pick on him. Not that it particularly bothered him, it was simply more annoying than anything. The junior wasn't the type to let insults bother him, to let others humiliate him with their words. He was raised better than that, better than to be belittled by others, to be made fun of just so others could have their fun. It was probably a good thing, too, because since he didn't really care, he couldn't get emotionally hurt by such things. Some that were bullied would cry and moan over the fact that they were bullied (which also just made them get picked on more) but by not responding, he wasn't hurt, and those that thought to pick on him for being the new kid at school had nothing to work off of, and so it stopped. Well, until they actually heard him speak, and some thought it funny and decided to tease him about it. Too bad that road didn't work either, and so it stopped again. He liked his accent, thank you. The British boy actually missed him home back in England, where he had lived with his family, with his mother and sister.

A thin, bony hand blocked dark eyes from the bright sun as the boy stepped out from the school building, out under the sun and sky. Honestly, he hadn't a clue where he was going...he just was. Being the new kid at school, he hadn't an idea of where anything was, really. Except for the barn, he knew where it was, if only because it was the first place he had gone when he arrived, to see to Dodgers, his bay Thouroughbred that he had actually owned before coming here. One of the few lucky ones to know their horse long before attending the school. But other than the barn, he didn't know of any other places, really. Inside the building, and out. He could locate the cafeteria and his dorm, and that was about it for him. He was sure to be able to figure the school out within the next couple of days. Or maybe weeks, who knew? He just hoped that he wouldn't end up lost within the building, because that would suck. Majorly. He wasn't one to like to get lost, and within a school was even worse, even if it was a boarding school. The junior might meet a teacher, and he hadn't yet met a cool teacher, though he had heard other speak of such educators. He had yet to meet one, so he highly doubted he'd find one, so meeting a teacher when lost was a bad thing. They could be so sicky sweet with their words, and it was extremely annoying, to be honest. Who wanted a grown man or woman crooning at you like you were a little kid? Not many, I'll bet.

Looking around, Skyler sighed. He did wish that he knew where things were in the school, for it would help him a great deal. All he knew was that he was in front of the school. He could get to the stables from here, but he didn't particularly feel like at the moment. Perhaps later he'd visit Dodges and exercise the stallion a bit. If the bay wanted to, in any case, the temperamental equine. Skyler loved the horse to pieces, though, having owned it for many years, watching him grow. A fond smile crossed his lips, before he shook his head. He probably looked like an idiot, standing here as he was, by himself. With another sigh, he set off down the path, dark brown eyes looking around him, looking for anything that perhaps might pose interesting to him.

With having no clue where he was going, he somehow ended up in the parking lot. Blinking, he looked around. There were two paths that led from the parking lot, besides the road that lead to the town outside the grounds of the school, as well as a third path that went up a set of stairs, but that obviously wasn't it. And, having turned around every which way, he honestly couldn't remember which path had lead him here. Both of them seemed to go towards the school, but he couldn't say which one actually did. So it was official, he was pretty much lost. Sinking down with a groan onto one of the curb stopper things (one that was right next to the stairs) that were in half a million parking lots (seriously, what were those things called?), he looked up at the blue blue sky. He didn't know how to get back to the school, nor did he particularly want to, but he also was already pretty lost, and didn't want to follow another path (assuming it was the one that didn't lead to the school) to get even more lost.

Skyler jumped as a skateboard landed next to him with a clatter, a girl soon following after. He just stared as she yelled several curses, but did nothing to stopper the bleeding on her arm. He stopped staring and scrambled to get up, going over to the blonde girl. "Are you all right?" he inquired, british accent evident in his voice, despite the two years he'd lived in America. Besides, several people told him they liked it, so he made sure not to let it fade away too much. "Oh nevermind that, it was a stupid question to pose," he muttered, searching his pockets for something to stop the bleeding. She could bleed to death if the girl wasn't careful. Luckily for him, he had several napkins in his pocket? Why, I don't know the answer to that myself, but he did. He knew he was probably being a bit forward, but unless he was causing it, he didn't like other people bleeding. Well, unless they deserved it. And he hadn't seen any way for this girl to deserve such a thing. Glancing at her for a second, he reached for her arm, pulling out the napkins from his pocket at the same time, meaning to press them to the wound. Skyler only hoped that he'd let her. You never know with women. "I'm Skyler, by the way. May I inquire as to your name?" Yeah, he had a bit of an odd way of speaking, but that came from his British raising. Brits spoke a bit differently than Americans, which attracted odd looks from them, because they weren't used to such speech. But they could get over it.

"Still so young, desperate for attention."

Well, this was an attempt to blow off steam, and the small little venture ended up being something that could end her life. Well, it wasn't serious, but Brianna could make it serious. She had no problem with bleeding, and the cuts up and down her arm were proof of that. But, she wasn't one of those little bitches who go and flaunt it around. She had a damn good reason to be suicidal. You try being abused, neglected, raped, and not loved on top of that. Would that really want to make you stay in this world? Her own mom didn't even love her. Brianna loved her mom, but she didn't like the woman. for the simple fact that she stood back and let all that shit happen to Brianna, but she couldn't bring herself to hate her. But the only thing was, her mom had no love for Brianna. Brianna could kill her self and it wouldn't phase her mother.

Brianna learned to close her self up and build a wall to not let anyone in. If she kept them out, then they couldn't hurt her, right? She still found it hard to trust Benjy and Spencer. But, she knew somehow, that they would never hurt her in any way. She felt self around her friends. But she didn't see her self letting anyone else in. It was a miracle that she had let them in in the first place. but they seemed to care about her and they listened to her when she was sad and when she needed to cry... But that was rare. She thought that she was too strong to cry, but we all know that wasn't true. She was actually really emotionally weak. She had a break down almost every day. And when she wasn't wishing she was dead, she was wishing everyone else was.

"Are you all right?
" she heard the words coming from a very, clearly, British voice. Brianna looked up from her wounded arm to the figure that had approached her. She really didn't say anything, only shot him a dumb look. "Oh never mind that, it was a stupid question to pose," Brianna raised her eyebrow. Wow, another 1800's vampire. Like in the chat room that once night. He started searching his pockets for something and Brianna still hadn't said anything. And for some reason, the strange guy had a whole crap load of napkins in his pocket. Brianna just blinked at him as he reached for her arm and tried to stop the bleeding. All she could get out of her mouth was "Dude. What kind of person carries around napkins?" Leave it to Brianna to ask the dumb questions.

"I'm Skyler, by the way. May I inquire as to your name?" Skyler? Hm. There was some new kid named Skyler here...and she had never seen this kid before. Brianna paused for a second before continuing. "Skyler? Like, 1800's vampire Skyler?" She asked, a small smirk on her face. She really hoped that was him or she was going to look very, very dumb. "I'm Brianna." She said, emphasizing how she pronounced her name. It was annoying for people to pronounce it like Bri-anna. She thought her's was rather unique...... even if her mom was on an acid trip when she named her.

i'm the narrator
and this is just the prologue

It wasn't like Skyler had intentionally gotten lost. (If he did, he'd be rather screwed up) It had just...happened that way. Of course, if he hadn't spun around, attempting to get his bearings, when standing in the parking lot, then maybe he wouldn't be lost. But of course, he hadn't thought of that then (obviously not knowing he'd get confused), and so here he was, lost in a parking lot, of all things. That would be expected of him. To get lost in a parking lot. Why was the parking lot kind of far away from the school anyways? Parking lots should be at the end of the driveway, near the school. Not far away-ish like it was. It was totally lame. Not to mention the things (like trees and bushes and shit) that blocked his view so he couldn't see what path would take him back to the school. Stupid school. His boot-clad feet kicked at a few rocks that littered the parking lot. You would think that he'd be able to guess which path it was, except that he had gone to the middle before turning about, and the paths were basically in the same place, just on opposite sides. Apparently, the world was just against him today, seeing as how he was lost in such a stupid place.

With the arrival of the blonde girl, he thought that maybe the world wasn't as against him as he had previously thought. At least it was someone that could end up helping him out of the place. If she didn't laugh at him first. Which was completely possible. Having she had only just appeared and not a word, not including the shouted curses, had been spoken that hinted to her personality. For all he knew, she could be the type to just laugh at his predicament and wander off, being cruel and heartless towards the troubles he was having. But he honestly hoped that she wasn't that way, simply because he would rather at least know the way back to the school, even if he didn't go there immediately. That way, if he decided to take the other path that led him to who knows where, he could at least backtrack and know what way to go from there. Yeah, he was pretty much fucked at the moment.

In general, Skyler hadn't a problem with blood. He didn't faint or get sick at the sight of it, hell, he'd even drawn blood before, though not his own. But unless he personally shed another's blood, he generally didn't like it. Again, it wasn't the fact that it made him ill in any way, he just didn't like to see others bleed, for it generally meant one had to get hurt, and he didn't like to see others in pain. Again, unless he caused it. Yeah, he was a pretty screwed up person, but take him as he was or leave him as he was, there was little one could change about him.

When he approached, he noticed the odd look the girl gave him. Yeah, he knew the question had been stupid. Which is why he took it back, but he also assumed that the look was also from the interesting way he spoke, not to mention his clearly british accent. Sure, they were on the coast, but still, british accents were somewhat rare in the United States. And his way of speech would be quite odd, even among some of the Brits, simply because it was a more older way of talking, but that's how he had been raised in his wealthy family, attended a rich private school that was really really good. And they basically talked that way and taught them to talk that way. Another thing you couldn't change. Not without a lot of time trying to teach him differently. He couldn't help the way he was, and he liked it that way, thank you very much.

At her question, a light blush covered his pale cheeks. Honestly, he really didn't know himself why he was carrying napkins around. He just...happened to have them. Skyler attempted to think back to when the napkins had gotten in his pockets, but he couldn't remember. He was pretty damn sure, though, that they had been in his pocket before today, this particular day the first time he had worn the pants since he got here. Yes, they were clean. Someone just must have slipped them in without him realizing it. It wouldn't surprise him, honestly, he usually failed to notice such a thing. "I..er...don't really know myself, to be honest," he replied as he pressed a couple of napkins against her wound, his slender fingers holding her arm carefully.

Now that the emergency bit was over, he actually looked over at her, more so than he had. Of course, he had noticed before that she was a girl and was blonde, but in the rush to help her, he didn't really look over her, notice anything, but as he looked over at her, really and truly, he noticed that she was, all in all, rather pretty. A light blush covered his cheeks, and he ducked his head, hoping to hide it, before she said something that made him look up. Of course, being here, he went to the chat rooms, where he even typed as he spoke, and one girl in particular gave him a bit of a hard time about it, calling him an 1800s vampire. As she spoke those words, he blinked. Then pouted lightly. "I am NOT an 1800s vampire," he said, before she introduced herself. "Oh, you're Brianna?" he inquired, pronouncing her name right. Honestly, he hated the other pronunciation. Not to mention it sounded odd with a British accent, whereas her name sounded quite pretty with his accent. It was interesting to meet the girl behind the name, the girl who constantly teased him about his speech and such things. Continuing to press the napkins to her wound, occasionally looking to see if the bleeding had stopped (which it hadn't, only slowed down some), and replacing some as they were soaked with blood. "If I were a vampire, for one, I wouldn't be out here in the sun. Not without burning, or sparkling as the case may be," he gave a shudder. He honestly didn't like Twilight, despite the fact that he did love reading, loved words. "And for two, the sight or smell of blood would most likely entice me, and I would attempt to drink it or whatever, instead of trying to stop it." Looking back down at the wound, Skyler applied a bit more pressure to the wound. He was glad he had a little bit of training in such things, and knew that pressure was to be applied. The junior looked back at Brianna, waiting for her reply. He knew she would have a comeback. Even if it might not make too much sense.

Brianna's eyes chased the boy's facial expressions, wondering if she had scared him off yet. She normally would have already scared him off, but the boy hadn't retreated yet. She wondered if he was lost, being he was the new kid in this place. "I..er...don't really know myself, to be honest," Brianna chuckled, well, at least he was honest and didn't say anything stupid. Brianna probably wouldn't have let it go if he had. That was just the way that Brianna was. If you said something dumb, well, dumb according to Brianna's standards, then she would never let you forget it. He was still putting pressure on her wound and Brianna rolled her eyes. Brianna wasn't holding her arm in pain, just letting in bleed. She was hoping maybe it would go ahead and take her out. That didn't sound so bad. But, now she wasn't going to get to leave, not that this guy was here 'Taking care of her.' If he wasn't cute, Brianna would have screamed at him.

"I am NOT an 1800s vampire," Brianna snickered. "Yes, yes you are." She argued, with a air of nonchalantness. That was just the way Brianna was. As he put more pressure on the wound, she gasped at the pain as he touched it the wrong way. She almost tried to retract her arm, but she decided to be nice. "Oh, you're Brianna?" Brianna tilted her head. "No, I just said my name was Brianna for the hell of it." She said, sarcasm lacing her voice. "Yeah, I'm Brianna." She said, nodding. Not really sure what else to say until he started talking about how he wasn't a vampire. Even if he came up with legit reason, Brianna would just tune it out and come up with some nonsensical reason that he actually was a vampire. Now, Brianna knew that he really wasn't vampire, but it was fun to pick on the vulnerable new kids.

"If I were a vampire, for one, I wouldn't be out here in the sun. Not without burning, or sparkling as the case may be," Brianna nodded as if she was agreeing with the statement that he made. But in reality, she wasn't. A coy smirk came upon her face and he started talking about number two. "And for two, the sight or smell of blood would most likely entice me, and I would attempt to drink it or whatever, instead of trying to stop it." Brianna shook her head at him. "Ah, that is where you are wrong, young padawan."

She snicked and said "Vampires sparkling and burning in the sunlight is a myth. Yes. What they really do is make sure little girls like my self don't bleed to death." She mumbled. "AND! Since you are from the 1800's you have had time to become immune to blood." She set her free hand in her lap. 'Therefore, you ARE a vampire!" Yeah, she wasn't letting this go.

i'm the narrator
and this is just the prologue

Skyler had to fumble for the napkins in his pocket, being that there were several of them, all packed against one another. Not to mention he was still rather startled at the sudden appearance of the girl. And that she was bleeding. Like I said before, the junior wasn't too fond of blood that wasn't his own, or any that he drew. In all honestly, he was still a bit in a state of shock. It wasn't every day a girl fell down next to you, bleeding. Much less a pretty one. So forgive him for being all fumbly and shit. A light blush coated his cheeks at the chuckle that fell from Brianna's lips. He didn't know why she was laughing. Presumably at his response. Which was completely true. He hardly ever lied, and would only do so if it convenienced him, and hardly to a lady. Because, well, he was raised better than that. Honestly, he was rather startled at her lack of response. From what he knew of her, though it was very little, seeing as how they had only talked in the chat box a few times, she usually had several scathing remarks up her sleeve. Oh well. Perhaps she was different in real life.

Of course, he was wrong, though he didn't realize it right then. Skyler still really didn't know her, so he also didn't know what to expect from her. At her reply, he mentally smacked himself on the head. No matter what he said, apparently, she was stuck on the idea that he was from the seventeenth century. And a vampire. A light pout crossed his lips. "I am not, thank you," he muttered, looking up at her from under his eyelashes. But he had a feeling she would continue to press that he was indeed one. When he put a little more pressure on the wound, Brianna gasped. The junior let up on the pressure by a fraction, not wanting to have too little pressure, but still enough that would help to stop the blood flow. "Hey, it's alright. Just a bit of pain," he murmured softly. Of course, he didn't know how she would react to such mutterings, but most people found it helped, even the tiniest little bit. He just wanted to reassure her, in any case.

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes at her sarcastic reply. "No need to be snipey," he replied easily. "I simply didn't expect it. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Brianna." He was the type that generally used one's long name, despite the fact that they might have a shortened version, or a nickname. A few others within the chat room had called the girl Bri, but nicknames were reserved for those close to them, unless the person openly said others could use it. Besides, her name was very pretty, and he would rather say it in full. Call him old fashioned, if you will. (Though, in a way, she had already done that, seeing as how she thought him to be from the 1800s.) But that was how he liked to do things. And he wasn't changing that. Not now, in any case. He hadn't found himself to be close enough with the girl to call her anything but her given name. So that was how it was for him.

Skyler had a bad feeling about the smirk that played upon her lips as he listed his second reason. A really bad feeling. So far, she had taken all of his perfectly legit reasons for him to not be a vampire and easily came up with a retort that would still prove him a vampire. And he didn't doubt she was about to come up with some more. He wasn't wrong, either, as she replied to his words easily, proving his reasons useless. An eyebrow rose at her beginning words. "Young Padawan? I wasn't aware that we were within a Star Wars movie," he remarked dryly with a smirk pulling on his lips. Star Wars. That brought back memories. He grew up with Star Wars, and, man, it was a good series of movies. He loved them.

A light grin pulled on his lips as she rattled of her replies to his insistence that he was not, in fact, a vampire. If anything, her remarks were amusing. "Ah, help little girls, do they? Well, that's the first time I've heard of vampire being the protagonist within a tale. Or, well, the obvious protagonist. I've never heard of a truly helpful vampire. Do tell more about them. It would keep me interested," he replied easily. Sure, it didn't prove him to not be a vampire, but there was little to work off of from that, in any case. Besides, he did find the tale of a nice vampire interesting. "If anything, a vampire's sense of smell would grow stronger over the years. And blood so close would probably break even the oldest vampire. I would not bet on any immunity to blood with vampires. It might just get you killed by one. Blood is needed for a vampire to exist. Without it, he would wither away," he said softly, looking over at her with a coy grin. "It is to vampires and oxygen and water is to us humans. It is essential for life." Skyler gently lifted the napkins and looked at the cut that marred her arm. Pausing, he waited to see if more blood would rise to the surface. He then set the material aside and inspected her arm closely. "Well, it looks as if the bleeding has stopping, in any case. A few beads of it may appear here and there, but for the most part, I do believe you're fine. Though you may want to get rid of the dried blood around your wound, though. Not to mention clean it up and bandage it when you get back to your dorm. Else it may get infected." Yeah, he was pretty well trained in first aid. And he would rather her be in good health. He wouldn't want to wish anyone to be in bad health. Not unless they truly pissed him off.

"Hey, it's alright. Just a bit of pain," Brianna cut her eyes at him. "Easy for you to say when you are the one causing the 'little bit of pain' " she said, mimicking his accent on the words 'little bit of pain' So, yes, we have cleared that Brianna was not the nicest person ever, even to the one who was trying to help her. But in her eyes, he was doing exactly what the blonde didn't want. She could have passed out from blood loss and then no one find her and then die. That would have worked, but no, the stupid 1800's vampire had to go all mother goose on her. But, it would all work out for the better, just don't tell the bitchy blonde that.

"No need to be snipey, I simply didn't expect it. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Brianna." Brianna smirked, "Mmmkay, then." was all she got out of her mouth. She didn't know how to respond to 1800's vampire speak. She wasn't a very silent person, but right now, she wasn't sure what to say. "Young Padawan? I wasn't aware that we were within a Star Wars movie,"Brianna snicked at this comment. "Then you aren't a very observant fellow, are you?" Oh lord. She just used the word Fellow? Maybe being an 1800's vampire was rubbing off on her...? Surely not.

"Ah, help little girls, do they? Well, that's the first time I've heard of vampire being the protagonist within a tale. Or, well, the obvious protagonist. I've never heard of a truly helpful vampire. Do tell more about them. It would keep me interested," Brianna blinked a couple of times and just shook her head. "Dude... do you not see the blonde hair? usage of big words is prohibited on this property." she said, blinking again. "If anything, a vampire's sense of smell would grow stronger over the years. And blood so close would probably break even the oldest vampire. I would not bet on any immunity to blood with vampires. It might just get you killed by one. Blood is needed for a vampire to exist. Without it, he would wither away,"

Brianna chuckled at this next statement, trying to find some way to use it against the rather cute boy who was next to her.... did she just think Twilight boy was cute? The blood loss must have been getting to her.. "You are so knowledgeable about this subject..... It must mean... YOU ARE A VAMPIRE!" She said. Yeah... she wasn't letting this one go. She sighed and wiped some of the dirt off of her pants with her free hand. Once he was done, she was just going to get back up and start skateboarding again. It was just how skaters did things. If her and Benjy fell off an eight story building, and were still able to walk, they would get right back up and skate away to the hospital.... Or, well, Bri would drag Benjy to the hospital.

she didn't care if she died, but she cared deeply for her best friend, even if she didn't show it all of the time. "Well, it looks as if the bleeding has stopping, in any case. A few beads of it may appear here and there, but for the most part, I do believe you're fine. Though you may want to get rid of the dried blood around your wound, though. Not to mention clean it up and bandage it when you get back to your dorm. Else it may get infected." Brianna chuckled. "Yes mother." She said, standing up and grabbing her board. Yeah, she could have been nicer, but this is Brianna we are talking about. Get real.

and this is just the prologue

Skyler rolled his eyes at the girl as she complained at the pain, though it was in a friendly, joking manner. Not in a rude manner at all. He wasn't like that. At least not to those he had grown to like. And he had definitely grown to like this girl in front of him. In a weird, odd way. Weird and odd simply because the way the two bickered slightly. An amused smile pulled his lips up slightly, the smile at her retort, and at the way she mimicked his accent. It didn't bother him in the least that she was making fun of him. It was simply the way he was, to let such things to slide off his back (figuratively, of course) and not bother him, not annoy him. "Perhaps, but I don't think it truly hurts as much as you're saying. I know a little bit better than to suspect it hurts so much." It was true. He had caused pain before. Excruciating pain. He wasn't glad that he had, no, but at the same time he wasn't sad. And, even for a girl, the pain that she endured was mild at worst.

Once again, he was astounded by her simple answer. "Mkaay then" wasn't what he had expected. He didn't think anybody that had spent any time in conversation with Brianna would expect such a simpleton response. They would expect something more witty, sarcastic, snarky, even. Not a simple "Mkaay". It just didn't seem her, even if he hadn't known her long, and even a shorter amount of time knowing her in real life. The computer was one thing, but in real life was a whole other place. He simply mentally shrugged and dismissed it. How she responded was none of his business. She could do as she liked. He only wished that she stayed consistent in her attitude. It would make figuring the girl out a whole lot easier, at least.

Another amused smile pulled at his lips as she uttered the word "fellow". It wasn't a word used by most people these days. And definitely not in America. It was a pinch more common in England, which is why he would use it himself, but here in America, it was exceedingly more rare. And it simply amused him that she had used him. Perhaps his presence was rubbing off on her, but he dismissed the idea. It was hardly likely. A light smirk lighted upon his lips as he responded. "Perhaps not," he started, checking the wound briefly. "But what I do observe is remembered in great detail." Skyler grinned over at her, a spark of...something in his eye. What the something was, it's hard to say. It wasn't pure amusement, nor wickedness.

A soft chuckle escaped his lips as she replied. Of course he had seen her hair. It was hard not to, with the stark blonde color, nearly white in hue. "Well, obviously I see it. Seems a bit of a beacon, with it's bright color, but color means nothing, it's simply a sterotype. And you had seemed smarter before, but perhaps I was wrong in my assumption. My apologies. In simple terms, you're showing the vampire as a good guy in your previous statement, and I was simply saying that I've never heard of a vampire being an obvious good guy," He paused, looking down at her, as if making sure she had gotten all of that. Protagonists were really the main character, but he was using the word in the sense of good character. Because they usually were. "It seems to me, they're mostly protrayed as the antagonist, or generally the bad guy, in tales." He shrugged lightly. "But perhaps you've heard different tales. Ones of good vampires. Would you enlighten me about them? And Edward Cullen does not count as a good vampire." Yeah, he kind of didn't like Edward Cullen. Or any of the Cullens. Or even the whole entire book series. Sure, he liked vampires in general, found them rather fascinating, but the Twilight series ruined the good name vampires had before. And it wasn't because he was a vampire. Because he wasn't.

When he finally was finished coming up with words to go against what she had said, he took several deep breaths. He hadn't paused to breath several times, and he was a bit out of breath now, but another chuckle fell from the junior's lips as she responded. "How do you know I'm not simply a vampire hunter? Would not a vampire hunter also know the details about vampires and how they work?" he inquired of the girl, smirk in place on his lips. Skyler found it a reasonable excuse. Vampire hunters would have to know a lot about vampires, wouldn't they, to hunt them? To understand how they work, their inner mechanisms, what their thought processes were like, to know where they might be, who they might feed on, and why. So it made sense to him. If it would to her, he wouldn't know. Most likely, she'd find some way to turn that against him, to find a reasonable retort out of that. But it was all in fun, in any case.

Yeah, he could kind of be a bit of a mother hen at times. But it was just a part of him. He didn't like people getting hurt. He didn't particularly like blood. He cared deeply for the human life, and knew it was a precious, precious thing. Of course he would, one who was scared of the dark simply because he had been there when his mother and sister had been killed in it. To this day, he still didn't know why he, and his father, were spared. But he had been in the room as well, frightened that he would be next. That he would be killed. Of course, in the dark room, he hadn't known that his mother and sister had died. Not until the next morning when light finally seeped into the room. Sure, before that event, he probably would've taken lives for granted, but now he knew that you couldn't. You only had one life, it was precious, you needed to take care of it. So, yeah, he could be mother hen-ish when it came to something relating to life and detracting from it. Skyler watched as she got back up....and back on the board. He hadn't anything against skateboarding, really, but she was just healing from the scratch that marred her skin. "Are you seriously just going to get back on there?" he questioned in his lilting accented voice, worry on the edges of the question. Well, it was in his nature to kind of worry. Well, maybe not really, but this girl had somehow wormed her way into the "worries about" area in the friendship part of his heart. He didn't know how she got there, and so easily, but she was there, and she probably would stay there forever. And he couldn't let this go that easily. He still didn't know how to get out of here.

"Still so young, desperate for attention."

"Perhaps, but I don't think it truly hurts as much as you're saying. I know a little bit better than to suspect it hurts so much." Brianna slightly rolled her eyes at the boy. Sure, she was being a little bit of a drama queen, but seriously, she wanted to go. The last place sh wanted to be was here... Well, not the last place. The last place that she snarky blonde wanted to be was home. Even though she griped and complained about this school on a daily basis, it was better than being home. At least she had friends here and didn't have to deal with her mom's husband. She gave a slight sigh and shook she thoughts out of her head. "Oh, so now your not just a vampire, your a physic vampire, now." Yes, Brianna was having very much fun teasing Skyler. Now, Skyler probably wasn't having fun, bur do you really think Brianna cared? Well, maybe deeep down inside, but shhh!

"But what I do observe is remembered in great detail."
A smirk tugged at Brianna's lips. She couldn't help but to chuckle at the way he talked. It was definitely not the American --or Canadian, being that's where Brianna was from - way of talking. More of the old English vocabulary. "You're still not observant...Therefore, you detailed memory is no use to you." Brianna said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She gave one more sigh, not really sure why. It wasn't a sigh of pleasure or discontent, nor boredom, but more of a pointless sigh, if there was such a thing.

"Well, obviously I see it. Seems a bit of a beacon, with it's bright color, but color means nothing, it's simply a sterotype. And you had seemed smarter before, but perhaps I was wrong in my assumption. My apologies. In simple terms, you're showing the vampire as a good guy in your previous statement, and I was simply saying that I've never heard of a vampire being an obvious good guy," Brianna rolled her eyes once more and scoffed. "You are way, way to analytical." She stopped and noticed she had used a big word. Now, Brianna wasn't dumb, but big words weren't her forte. "Oh! Who is using the big words now?!" She said, a bit of laughter in her voice.

"It seems to me, they're mostly portrayed as the antagonist, or generally the bad guy, in tales...... But perhaps you've heard different tales. Ones of good vampires. Would you enlighten me about them? And Edward Cullen does not count as a good vampire." Brianna tilted her head. She needed a come back to his statement that there was no such thing as a good vampire. And Edward Cullen didn't count. damn, She was totally going to use him too! "Uh. Well.. You see. They are very rare and you only come upon them once in a blue moon, but seeing as how you wont let me bleed to death, you seem to be one of those good guy vampires." Brianna said.

"How do you know I'm not simply a vampire hunter? Would not a vampire hunter also know the details about vampires and how they work?" Brianna shook her head. "No, you're not a hunter." Was her simple argument. She looked around the parking lot and noticed someone walking across it. "Because, if you were, you would know that he was a vampire!" she said, pointing towards the guy. "And even I, a mortal, could tell that he is a vampire. Some hunter you are." She said, nodding.

"Are you seriously just going to get back on there?" Brianna cut her eyes at him. "Does it look like I am?" she said, going back up to the stair rail where she was going to try and grind the rail again, this time trying to keep her balance so she didn't get hurt, and surprisingly, she cleared it with flying colors.

Another smirk lighted upon Skyler's lips at her response. It was obvious the girl was having fun teasing him, and, somewhere deep, deep down in his heart perhaps, he was as well. Though it wasn't like he disliked it, either, or found it annoying. It just was. She was having fun, good for her. He could care less, really. If Bri enjoyed herself by teasing him, then so be it. He didn't care. "Perhaps I am psychic, or at least well aquainted with various levels of pain. No matter the case, I'm still not a vampire, psychic or no." He replied softly with a slight grin. Of course, he wasn't psychic, though it'd be pretty awesome. Having taken fighting lessons (not to mention learned to fight with a knife via one of his friends), he knew what pain was. Sure, Brianna was a girl, and therefore generally more suceptible to pain, but it still was a miniscule amount of it, compared to things that might hurt more.

As the other teen chuckled after his reply, he wondered, breifly, what she found amusing. Then, of course, he realized that it wasn't his business, for she could be laughing at something that had happened within her circle of friends, and that was a personal thing. He had no business snooping around in other people's personal matters. With her reply, Skyler shook his head. "Not necessarily. If I observe something that greatly matters, and detail is necessary, I would think that it would be quite helpful in such a situation, wouldn't you agree?" he inquired with a smirk. As she sighed, he had half a notion to do so as well, but, instead, he ran his other hand, the one obviously not holding down the napkin against Brianna's skin, through his coffee brown hair, ruffling it slightly. It was a habit he had. Probably not necessarily a good one, but one nonetheless.

Skyler shrugged lightly. "Perhaps I am, but it's not something that I can really change. Just a part of who I am." Really, he was rather analytical. Most of the time, he studied a situation before taking action. Like when she had fallen, he had taken inventory of what had happened, and the fact that she had cut her arm, before he acted. He was cautious. Caution didn't get one killed. And living itself was a deadly task. Especially when you had problems like he did, though he was getting better and better at controlling his angrier, more violent side. A soft chuckle escaped from her lips at her next exclamation. "Well I do believe that you are. Congratulations. You now have the vocabulary of a seventh grader," he replied with a smirk. It wasn't a remark made in cruelty, but in jest, and he hoped that she could tell that. He didn't make such remarks with many people, and of those, usually only friends were on the receiving end. She had definitely found herself a nice place within his group of friends. At least in his head. Of course, he hadn't a clue if she thought herself his friend. He only hoped so, because she definitely seemed interesting, and better a friend than enemy.

Should the two of them have been sitting in chairs with this discussion, and the girl not bleeding, he would've sat back when he was finished with that explanation, in a sort of triumphant way. Because, really, that was a pretty good comeback, if he did say so himself. And, judging by Brianna's expression, she thought so as well. And blocking off Edward Cullen probably helped too. The dispicable so called "vampire" was a disgrace to the race. Well, if they were real. Really. Sparkling? It was nonsense. Besides, the movie portrayal of the character was kind of fugly. Not that Skyler liked guys. Because he didn't. He was straight. But even he could sense the fugliness of the guy. But no matter. Another light chuckle fell from Skyler's lips at her response. It wasn't a mean laugh, but simply one of amusement. Hey, it was a weak reply, and he found it somewhat funny. "And you can prove such vampires exist? Besides using me as an example, of course. There would have to be stories of other good vampires, wouldn't you say? Even if they are rare as you say."

When Brianna pointed towards a person, as he could only assume by her statement, he turned to look. Sure enough, some person was walking across the parking lot, looking straight ahead. They had probably seen them and decided to not wonder about what they were doing. Most of the staff disliked the crazy teens that attended the school. There were only a few staff members that were, overall, cool with the kids. Skyler smirked lightly. "Not quite. Do you think that I would so easily reveal the fact that someone is a vampire? I don't know what side you are on, therefore, I couldn't so easily release that fact to just anybody. The secret of one's race is to be kept quiet until the time is right," he replied simply, a larger smile than before on his lips. Sure, Brianna might be teasing him about the whole vampire thing (which he didn't like) but he was still having fun. "But since you, mortal, have decided to openly reveal the poor person's true race, I shall admit that I, too, knew he was a vampire." Though, of course, it wasn't true. Vampires weren't real (as far as anyone knew) and it was highly unlikely that the person was actually a vampire. But it was fun, though.

The junior didn't reply, simply kept quiet as he watched her. Of course he was a bit worried. The girl had just cut open her arm by doing this, and he didn't want to see her get hurt again. He was pretty sure that he didn't have enough napkins for another injury. As she started to slide down the rail, he closed his eyes, not wishing to watch. Soon, however, came the sound of board hitting the ground. No sound of the human body smacking the ground, and nor was the sky filled with her colorful language, as it had been when she had fallen before. Skyler cracked open an eyelid and looked. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding when he saw her in one piece before him, unharmed. He looked back up the rail before glancing over at her once more. "That's rather impressive. At least from one that doesn't skateboard, or even has the slightest clue how to," he told her, clearly impressed. Really, he couldn't skateboard to save his life (though he wouldn't mind learning sometime, maybe...) and found such feats interesting and impressive.

"Perhaps I am psychic, or at least well acquainted with various levels of pain. No matter the case, I'm still not a vampire, psychic or no." Brianna chuckled a little bit. Of Course she knew he wasn't a vampire, but it was so much to tease the boy, though he didn't seem to let it really get to him, and that was a quality that Brianna's friends really needed to have in them, like Benjy, of course. But with Spencer it was a bit different. She constantly was building him up, and not playfully tearing him down like her other friends. Brianna thought of a remark. "Heh. Well, of course you wont admit to being a vampire, because if you did, it would reveal your secret identity." She sighed and continued her speech. "It would be like if Superman revealed his identity. How fucked up would that be?" She finished.

"Not necessarily. If I observe something that greatly matters, and detail is necessary, I would think that it would be quite helpful in such a situation, wouldn't you agree?" Brianna tilted her head like a true blonde, which she wasn't. She was really smart and never played dumb like a lot of these bitches who just played dumb to get attention. Brianna could really care less about attention. "That..." She started. "Made absolutely zero sense... But that doesn't surprise me coming out of your mouth and all." Brianna smirked at the boy. This was way to much fun. At least the boy could take a joke.
